Trace elements, including the PGE (platinum group elements), REE (rare earth elements), and others like Nb, Ta, Ga, In, Ge and Te, are often referred to as technology critical elements or TCEs. The rate of their production and utilisation has particularly increased through their use in high-tech applications. The possible environmental and (eco)toxicological implications of this trend is the object of the EU COST action NOTICE.
Contributions dealing with natural and anthropogenic fluxes of technology-critical elements, including development of new sources, reactivity and mobility in different environmental compartments, analytical challenges, and potential exposure pathways and influences on biota are wellcome. Field, laboratory and computational studies are all within the scope of the meeting. We also look for stakeholderes prespectives including condirerations of suitable regulations and gap of knowledg that should be considered.More
